Woman who stayed home to raise kids, is now raising a high-needs grandson while taking care of her terminally ill husband. All thru the time she was raising her kids she was also taking care of various older family members. Not one bit of compensation to her. She now needs to put her husband in hospice in the nursing home but can't because what pitiful income they have in the way of disability income would end. She has never worked enough quarters recently to qualify on her own. Our "safety net" sucks.
