Even without voting, getting along in the modern world without a photo ID is a MAJOR pain in the ass. You cannot buy alcohol or tobacco, cash a check, apply for SNAP or other benefits, start any bank or credit accounts, rent an apartment or motel room...

Perhaps the focus should be how do we help people without an ID to get one so they can function in society and not be left on the bottom?
