74. You are wrong

Nov 2013

And it is you are creating your own language...or rather relying on the misinfo of the right, the M$M definition, and the understanding of of the ignorant. Those groups don't get to dictate language.

Anti-abortion-Against abortion
Pro-Choice-You believe that abortion should be legal, accessible, and up to the woman.

Anti-abortion and pro-choice- You are personally against abortion, but don't think it should be illegal.

It is a common position among many pro-choice advocates, and without it there would be no "choice."

There is a vast difference in making abortion rare by Lars39 Nov 2013 #3
Absolutely. renie408 Nov 2013 #6
I am anti-abortion and I absolutely agree with you on this. Th1onein Nov 2013 #9
No one is "pro-abortion" for fuck's sake. SunSeeker Nov 2013 #15
Actually, people here were strongly arguing they should NOT be rare. pnwmom Nov 2013 #29
I think her point was when some talk about making abortions rare, it is by denying them to women. SunSeeker Nov 2013 #32
No, she was criticizing Democrats who say that in the best of all worlds pnwmom Nov 2013 #33
No, that is not what she said. SunSeeker Nov 2013 #37
Wonderful clarification, thank you for that. PeaceNikki Nov 2013 #38
I guess the question is that do DUers who use that language want legal proscriptions on Abortion el_bryanto Nov 2013 #50
I contend those who support choice have a vested interest in removing the harmful language PeaceNikki Nov 2013 #52
Well it clearly is a bit controversial el_bryanto Nov 2013 #60
I contest that you are wrong about this. Pretzel_Warrior Nov 2013 #132

Anti-abortion means anti-choice in America. SunSeeker Nov 2013 #40

She just said she uses anti-choice and anti-abortion "interchangeably" SunSeeker Nov 2013 #45
no I didn't newcriminal Nov 2013 #46
The poster I was responding to did, and you stepped in on her behalf. SunSeeker Nov 2013 #48
didn't say I was anti-choice and pro-choice newcriminal Nov 2013 #49
You can't be pro-choice AND anti-abortion as those two terms are understood. SunSeeker Nov 2013 #62
You are wrong LostOne4Ever Nov 2013 #74
Are you "personally against" abortion in cases of rape and health of the mother? SunSeeker Nov 2013 #76
Again you are the one making up definitions LostOne4Ever Nov 2013 #77
"FFS" is rude. But that's okay. Th1onein Nov 2013 #63
Anyone who is anti-abortion/anti-choice is rude, to put it mildly. SunSeeker Nov 2013 #67

the "Yay abortion" was deliberately mischaracterizing those who support unfettered access bettyellen Nov 2013 #112
There wasn't just one thread, there were many. pnwmom Nov 2013 #22
In medical terms, most abortions are not complex procedures, which is what people are referring to. SunSeeker Nov 2013 #64
I'm not going to look for this now, but there was a lot more than that post. pnwmom Nov 2013 #68
I think the term "insignificant" here is reference to the alternative. SunSeeker Nov 2013 #69
And it can be a complicated medical procedure. Case by case. Pretzel_Warrior Nov 2013 #134
So can a tooth extraction. But early termination is statistically FAR FAR safer than carrying PeaceNikki Nov 2013 #135
Nobody is denying that. Pretzel_Warrior Nov 2013 #136
cool. PeaceNikki Nov 2013 #137
LOL. I didn’t see your reply to PR and I used the same tooth extraction analogy. SunSeeker Nov 2013 #164
lol. GMTA! PeaceNikki Nov 2013 #167
Of course. So can a tooth extraction. But in the vast majority of cases, they are simple. nt SunSeeker Nov 2013 #160
Is that standard talking point? It's just weird you two with replies Pretzel_Warrior Nov 2013 #161
Nope. Just a coincidence. Great minds think alike. nt SunSeeker Nov 2013 #162

Compared to carrying to term and delivery, it's definitely "no biggie". PeaceNikki Nov 2013 #21
I have a friend who had an abortion and later, three babies. pnwmom Nov 2013 #26
