Glad you're here! I remember how The Guardian was the only major publication anywhere that consistently told the truth about bush/cheney - especially regarding their collective war hard-on. Agence France-Presse was another one. Most of the overseas news outlets did, but The Guardian led the way. And if any of them moved the meter at all, it was The Guardian that did so, and nobody gave a damn about der Spiegel or the rest of 'em. That was "Old Europe" as rummy dismissively sneered. That and the McClatchy papers here in the U.S. - which were decidedly low-profile and nobody paid much attention to them. Unlike what the devious network executive (played by Robert Duvall) in the movie "Network" called "the holy goddamn New York Times."
