is that she's devastated by being charged with assault. There's nothing about remorse for her actions leading to that charge.

Here's the pertinent quote above (highlighting mine) :

That officer is charged with assault; if convicted, she could face three years in prison
The accused police officer is "devastated" by the charge, her lawyer says
