(1,083 posts)I think they called it a "blue". It was actually gray with a little white on it's chest. This dog was unbelievably sweet. He was underweight, but other than that, he looked pretty healthy. He was really a beautiful dog. Unfortunately, there was no way we could keep him. We had four other animals that were getting up in age ( we just lost one a couple weeks ago that we had for over 15 years ::cry!: and this cutie pitbull was just filled with a bit too much energy.
We had taken him to a couple places that we immediately didn't trust, then we took him to our trusted vet. The secretary in his office told us she knew of a group of people that "saved" pitbulls. They might be illegal where I live. Anyway, we let her call a guy and we met him and turned over "Bruiser" ( I foolishly named him..) and watched as he drove away with this loving animal.
To this day, I don't know if we gave him to a trust worthy person or not. We tried to exchange phone numbers, but the guy said in was in a hurry and his wife was going to kill him for bringing home another dog. ???
Bruiser, in the day and half that we had him, stuck right by my side and constantly tried to play or give me big facial kisses. This dog was screaming to be loved. He made sure he didn't misbehave except for jumping on me when I threw a tennis ball for him to retrieve: which is why I called him Bruiser.Ouch! He would actually jump and push off on me. heh heh
I'll never forget him and never stop thinking about whether I gave him to the right people.
