3. Well, I hung on as long as I did

Partly because I'm territorial and disinclined to be pushed out of anywhere I have a right to be. But if the former driver doesn't go postal by November, I doubt he's likely to attack the bus. The only other person who seemed truly dangerous was the deranged ex-con, and I'll check to see whether he's still allowed on the bus either. For all I know both of them might not be long for this world anyway, because each has severe physical health issues in addition to the psychiatric ones. W/o their mutual instigation, I don't believe the others will actually offer harm. I've always been pretty good at reading people. If they pitched anymore screaming fits, I'd be wearing dark wraparound sunglasses and noise-cancelling earphones, so they couldn't provoke another fit out of me. Besides, I know the new driver and he's one of those rare sane people I get along with here. I don't think he'd tolerate such misconduct.

And if someone wanted to turn up their holy noses at me, by this time it's a compliment. Should one of them petulantly demand my help all the same, I'll smile my sweetest and say, "Just as soon as you swear you love Barack Obama." Unless of course it's a rider who came on after I left and never harrassed me. But you've seen those teabagger nuts - imagine listening to that crap for years!

Meanwhile, I'll keep celebrating the fact that the SOB previous driver finally got himself canned. I always thought that one of the major reasons he lasted so long was because management might have considered him dangerous to themselves as well. They might've known they were riding a tiger - yet finally they had no choice.
