In reply to the discussion: Howard Dean: Hillary Clinton Will FACE PRIMARY RIVAL [View all]UTUSN
(70,681 posts)Anybody contemplating bombs here, my context is support (besides for all Dem nominees, after primaries, of whatever wing) of the CLINTONs since '92 when Bill was unknown to me in an early debate. As for the different "scandals" (the FAKE impeachment, all the different 'gates, including Hillary's), I still believe that most of them were 85% Rethug dirty warfare, after they were finally over, my nagging gripe solidified into this: That we expended most of our energy in defending the CLINTONs instead of their zeroing in on OUR political agenda items.
That said, when '08 came along, I was strongest of strong for her, all the way through April or May, still thinking that OBAMA was a cheeky upstart. But then I became convinced that she ran an entitled, lousy campaign: Totally inside-the-box, wasting millions on insider p.r. dudes, thoroughly outflanked by the OBAMA campaign.
Then I gloried in the supposed OBAMA-CLINTON alliance and for most of the first four years bought into the meme about what a wonderful job she was doing as SoS. But what exactly did she accomplish beyond flying around the globe having tea and hugs?!1 What negotiations, what treaties, what what. And I totally believe the Benghazi thing is another wingnut-trumped-up-nothing, but her bottom line was being caught off guard, not so much by the events themselves but by the wingnut onslaught. So much for her being ready for the 3 A.M. call.
So. (I've forgotten the thread subject, have had interruptions.) Oh. I saw her at a rally in '08 and she was tired back then. So all this history adds up to unoriginal strategy, mismanagement, and a HUGH!1 target for the Wingnuts. So I'll be looking around A LOT in the primaries, but, of course, if she is the nominee I'm THERE.
