(45,319 posts)but on others, such as any rights for LGBT people we are told that our Republican partners must be pleased with what we do, many Democrats spent years and years and years in agreement with Republicans about gay people. Obama spent years agreeing with them, opposing us. Joe Biden literally shouted out that he agreed with Palin during the debates, no marriage rights.
Just odd, that when it is for millions treated unfairly, it is easy for Democrats to stand with Republicans. They will do it again this week, they just took protections for us out of the Immigration Bill to please the GOP, yet again.
So when will 'Karl opposes' become reason enough to stand with those who are not rich ladies born to power with full rights and no empathy? That's my question.
The Republicans opposed a Public Option. Many Democrats, elected and otherwise, stood with them in that, or bowed to the pressure.
Selective 'courage' makes the typical cowardice seem even more pronounced.
