...SS lightning bolts all by themselves either on a solid color field flag or as a tattoo. We're not talking about the S's in the old KISS band name and we're not talking about run of the mill Futhark runes: The SS Nazi symbols are a very specific design which you can learn more about here.
That specific "SS" design (the one those soldiers have on their flag) is outlawed in Germany because it is a clear, widely-known nazi symbol.
I think they should just fess up: They think it makes them more badass. 'Casue, ya know, nazis are badass...

I agree. Outside of the swastika, it's the most widely-recognized nazi symbol, IMO.
