But what you said was that his companion was continuing his job with Bene, when that is not the case, this is verified. He is going to live with Bene but work at his old job, helping the new Pope castigate same sex couples. It is what it is.
So I as a gay man, don't see Sully as being homophobic, I see the Pope, his companion and the Vatican machine that maintains their vast closet of oppression as deeply and actively homophobic and intensely hypocritical. And I see the folks in this thread claiming that it's just the guy keeping his old job as butler so that Bene will not be alone in a studio apartment having to pour his own Ensure as being intellectually dishonest for the sake of an old homophobe and his adorable male long time constant companion.
