93. My husband was stationed at Bitburg

and we lived out of town in the small village of Stahl. We rented a small duplex -- the other half was a chicken coop. And on airman's pay, we were the working poor. Despite the inconveniences (no hot water, small space heater in the living room, 2-burner stove that didn't work if the oven was on) I loved the country and the entire experience of being there. Being from Seattle, the rain and grey skies didn't bother me at all.
