10. are you familiar with the novella "Michael Kohlhaas"?

This story seems to never get old. It was adapted to an American milieu by E. L. Doctorow in his 1975 novel Ragtime which is probably better known, and made into a movie by Milos Forman.

Kohlhaas/Coalhouse have to suffer an injustice. Not insignificant, but not exceptional either. They demand justice and go on to actively persue every avenue to achieve it.

Since the administrative "old boys' club" prevents any progress through legal channels, Kohlhaas resorts to criminal means. He begins a private war.
