5. That's what Japan used to make, too. Times change. People change. Countries change.

My guess is that the Chinese are just about as capable as you and me. It's funny how people are much the same no matter where you go.

And please don't say the same thing about what they make in Liberia or Bolivia, Romania or India. As long as you're just saying it about just the people in one country, the issue is them. If you say it about the people in a lot of countries, the issue may become the one who thinks that every country except the USA just makes - well you know. It wouldn't sound very liberal to profess that people in the Third World can only make - you know.

And, of course, they make planes, rockets, cars and high tech stuff in China, too. Do you suppose the Chinese workers wonder sometimes why Americans only seem interested in buying the - you know - that they make? When someone buys cheap quality stuff, they are either too poor to afford better quality or they have the money but don't think the higher quality is worth the price. I doubt the Chinese see us as buying - you know - because we are poor, at least not poor by their standard. They must figure that we just don't want to pay more for higher quality so they make what they think we want. Meanwhile their aerospace industry builds products for China's own use and sends their - you know - to us.
