(and I've never been in one myself), I've maybe seen one time where the offendee asked the offender for clarification before they removed the gloves. I think a great many fights on DU could be avoided if the person would simply ask for a clarification, explain why something would be offensive and give the person a chance to retract and/or reform their thought.
