Checkmate my ass. He's drumming up publicity, period. As many gun nuts as he drives away that's how many anti-gun nuts he'll draw in. He breaks even there. By merely getting his name in the headlines and mentioning his new movie, he gets people that might not have known about the movie that don't care one way or the other about guns. It's a net win.
