I enjoy absurdity unless it is taught as science.
I also enjoy well done satire; with the same conditional as above.
When something I read causes me to feel so gobsmacked as the quote in the OP, I'm tempted to scream...or cry. Today I used the absurdity of a "conservative thinker" wrapped in a "philosophical question" combined and twisted inside out and upended in such as way as to present my version of the assertion in the OP as reflected in their fun-house mirror facing an infinity of fun-house mirrors.
