Ed Koch Obit: What is this mysterious reference to Cuomo Sr. in middle paragraph?

1. Mario and Andrew Cuomo are directly responsible for doing nothing to stop the smear

there is a video/audio/written transcript released by the NY Times which famous people
do, and is essentially a last word that was aired on NY radio yesterday.

There is a good 10 minutes on this.

It is fascinating.

Ed Koch finally got his revenge on Mario and Andrew.
And this takes Andrew out from ever thinking of higher elected office.

I myself never forgave either of the two for this.

Love or Hate Ed Koch politics (and I was on the side of Rev. Al Sharpton in stating Koch started a race war in the 1980s, (and living in Brooklyn at the time too),
I also saw in the this specific campaign(late 70s)(as I lived in Queens that year), the posters
that indeed said
Vote for Cuomo not the Homo all through areas of Queens.

It was disgusting and to think mario was running to the left of Ed.

Mario never appologized and Ed never forgave (though as he said, he did not show in public his disapproval of Mario as the two needed to work together for the city).

In dying, Ed Koch evened the score.
(and made public what some tried to say never happened.)
