we had ten years of the Bush tax cuts, before that we had the Reagan and Clinton tax cuts. Then we extended the Bush tax cuts for two more years and threw in two years of payroll tax cuts. Now we just extended 85% of the Bush tax cuts forever - costing $3.7 trillion over the next decade. With 65% of that money going to the richest 20%. Between 1986 and 2006 the tax cuts for just the richest 1% were $2 trillion. Not to mention the rest of the top 5% or the top 20%.
And for spending? How much did we spend to invade Iraq?
