(45,358 posts)58. I had a oral surgeon friend who was stealing opiates from his practice..
Lots of them, the hardest opiates he could get his hands on. See "Drugstore Cowboy" for reference.
He eventually got caught and unlike the "Pot Addict" described above, he was not fired. It's just sooooo fair!
He also told me that opiate addiction is very common in his field. Especially now, with Oxycontin.
