1. The Texas AG is posturing. He wants New Yorkers to keep the hell away.

In my first month in Texas (this past summer), I heard the following comment from a Texas politician that was received with laughs, cheers, and applause:

"Texas is growing and growing fast. People are realizing that Texas is a great place to live, a great place to work, and a great place to raise your kids. So, they move here, and they are most welcome. I just wish they'd leave their politics at the border."

So, come on down. Bring your money and your guns, but take your NY politics and put 'em where the sun don't shine.
