10. For years cons defended globalization by saying aircraft exports are a US strength

All the subbing out of components overseas, including major subsections ( well before the 787 line ) would tend to erode the value of the much ballyhooed "exports" of aircraft.

These cons ( and third way types ) were the same crowd trying to bullshit us into thinking free trade was good bcause our exports were growing...while studiously ignoring the imports growing faster yet.
