Some of was a little too boiler-plate. He kinda wandered on education and energy. I thought he could have devoted more time to health insurance reform and made a direct comment on the Tucson shooting. The hug of Giffords was nice, but there were other victims of that day too, and there are victims of gun violence every day. He didn't discuss the political situation in Mexico at all, although he did discuss immigration in broad terms. I'm looking forward to Jacob Lew really getting into the swing, because Bill Daley hasn't been effective.
Overall though it was a very good political speech, though perhaps not so much on policy. I think he certainly put the fear in Mittens, Noot, and the Congressional Republicans.
