I agree that they are similar enough for us to begin to fund infrastructure by making 80% of the cost of guns and ammo a tax. Since a dollar's worth of cigarettes costs $5 with taxes, a $500 gun would run $2500, with $2000 of that being taxes, a $20 box of ammo would run $100 with $80 of that being taxes. Some of the funds would be spent on the wounded or burying the dead and indigent. The rest could fund better schools and roads, just like tobacco.
