This has been a years-long emotional roller coaster for so many of us and its easy to lose perspective and get discouraged. Our House Managers were nothing short of brilliant. Their hard work and eloquence were a gift to our country and we should all be so very proud of them.
You are right about the struggle - it is ongoing and there is never a time we can rest on our laurels - evil never takes a day off. The ditch digging analogy is a good one to keep in mind.
(Btw, I had the privilege of meeting Rubin Carter after a talk he gave some years ago while doing promo tours for The Hurricane. His strength and perseverance were an example of never giving up and we cant be discouraged or give up either.) Onward...
