10. No it's impossible because of a worship of the gun

Because for the last several days, I've been having a "real conversation" about guns. The same tired threadbare arguments that have been used after every single massacre were trotted out again, and shot down again, and will be the excuse for doing nothing, again. Even the NRA appears to be caving, claiming (for now) that they'll do anything to prevent something like this from happening again.

But the Pro Gun folks will trot out the same tired arguments like every time. 99.99% of the gun owners are not criminals. Yet that .01% is responsible for tens of thousands of deaths every year. The only other nations that have that kind of body count from guns are in the midst of a civil war.

So we'll give up, and we'll wait, and in a few weeks, or months, we'll see again where some douche slaughters dozens of innocents, and we'll again wring our hands, and talk about how nothing can be done. It's just too hard.

Australia essentially banned guns, and their murder rate has dropped dramatically. But we won't learn from that, instead dooming our fellow beings to being the victim of the state of the art of slaughter.

It is impossible to have the discussion, because too many of us have bought the NRA crap hook, line, sinker, pole, boat, and dock.
