crosshairs since chimps days. After the illegal and misguided invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, we lined both borders with Iran with military bases. Probably still trying to get back what we stole when the Shah was overthrown.
That is why I don't see our support of Israel as being altruistic or even Christian Nationalist dominionism. I think for the US it is pure greed. From what I understand the Palestinians and Iranians are ethnically tied and Iran is still hostile to Israel. So the hostilities are a twofer. Israel gets to weaken an enemy and the US has justification to seize Iranian oil.

The most radical hypothesis I have read to date (and his documentation was meticulous so I didn't dismiss it, but it is a bit far to easily accept) is that Massad was behind 9/11 so we would weaken the enemies of Israel. In this day and age who knows?
