You made a post. Contents, (at this point) are immaterial.

Someone took offense (fairly or not) at what you posted. They alerted.

The alert went to a jury of other DUers. The jury voted that it violated some rule or another.

The system deleted your post.

That's how it works. So what now?

You could lick your wounds and let it slide.

You can appeal to the admins.(at which point the post's content matters)

I have appealed and lost. I have appealed and had posts restored.

In my view, the site's posters, as a group, are somewhat emotionally overwrought right now.. I blame MOTHERFUCKER. I see him succeeding in tearing the country apart. Overwrought DU members are a small part of that.
