40. My first SS payment posted over this past weekend as an "early deposit", too.

It had an effective date of 3/18. Yesterday my checking account showed it as an officially posted deposit, and all funds were available. So I used the funds to pay down my credit card, pay my supplemental health care, and put some money in my savings account.

As of this morning, the deposit is back in a “pending” status with a 3/19 effective date and my checking account is overdrawn. I’m not sure if it’s my bank or the SS Administration. But be careful about when and how you use the funds…
