Massachusetts ranks second in per-capita income, first in percentage of the population with a college degree, has some of the best state-provided mental health services in the country, a population that is over 90% urban, and a relatively low degree of racial and ethnic diversity compared to many other states (MA is 84% white). All of these social, cultural, and socioeconomic factors probably affect the firearms death rate more than state gun laws do.

Which state? MrSlayer Dec 2012 #1
