and probably would have never been a good hunting dog (just as some dogs just simply don't make the grade as police dogs, service animals, trackers, etc.) Doesn't mean it couldn't have fulfilled another role, or found another home

Similarly - owner was also defective ...
And probably will never be molded into a real human being.
