Yep. Call them anyway. Call them often. Because...
It's not about whether they gaf, It's about you telling them YOU gaf enough to spread the word about their fearful cowardice in the face of only one man compared to all the the human beings they don't care about hurting. And bad news about their bad actions travels fast. They WANT people to be afraid, alone, and feeling powerless. Do not give them what they want.
