Excellent BlueSky thread on Smith's report, ends with "We are at the end of a political system" [View all]

He starts with:

"The Court's discussion ... illustrates those challenges"

The Jack Smith report gets as close as you will ever see to a DOJ lawyer saying that the Supreme Court is stupid.

The report spends a few pages describing how the corrupt Court used pretzel logic, while never saying the court is corrupt.

He ends his thread with:
After some time to think, the Smith Report leaves me at:

We are at the end of a political system. The rules-first legal world we’ve been living under cannot hold. We need a new conceptual legal framework that recognizes the courts are political.

As @espinsegall.bsky.social has been saying.
