That belief was never true in the sense that all “older generations” were more conservative. It fundamentally depended on the effects of more youthful experience that is carried forward be many folks as they age. At 76 my youthful age cohort was demonstrating regularly and vigorously against racism and Kissinger’s Domino theory of the outrageous US war in Vietnam. We wanted to free Bobby Seale, advance women’s rights, stop ever having another republican president.
