First, let me say that's it's my belief that as of next January 20th, American democracy will be replaced by a malignant tyrant. All the levers of power will be in his hands and those of his very vicious cohorts. And I believe that, all our rhetoric aside, we don't seem to have the power or the means to prevent this.

However, January 20th is 60 days away, and here are my personal plans for living life to the fullest during that time.

I will take my close friends to our favorite restaurants weekly. (Might as well dig into savings before the oligarchs take it from us.)

If any woman I know or hear of has a life-threatening pregnancy, I will do all within my power to help. I will do what I can to get her and a companion, to a civilized state where women's health matters. (I live in Florida.)

I will speak my mind in person and online, until the very moment a law is passed that no one can speak their mind without grave consequences.

I will watch/read just enough "news" to stay generally informed. Any more than that would destroy my soul.

I will be kind to people. (Although probably not to those I know who voted for the upcoming Hellscape.)

I will stream every great movie I wanted to see again.

There's more. But I will live life to the fullest and by my own beliefs for the next 60 days.

And when the future arrives, I'll do what I can. But I will never be, what in a different era was called, "A Good German."
