is also the one scared Obama want compromise because of the crazy Lefties with the extreme Right wing Republicans. He believes that Boehner is a moderate and distinguishes him from the Tea Party. He also agrees with Ed Rendell on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Matthews wants Obama to cave because he sees that as saving the country from disaster.

I disagree with Chris Matthews. I don't think that you give away your principles for a bad deal, when the other side is blackmailing you. There are sometimes, that you have to hold your ground or the other side will do the same-thing again if they see that they can make you cave. This means even if you experience short term pain. Let me put it this way, if John Brown had not reacted the way that he did, would the slavery question have become an issue as it did? If Lincoln had not did any thing about the attack on Fort Sumpter, would the events of the Civil War had taken place? Getting the objective that you want, is not always sterile. If History was like Chris wanted it to be, then nothing would be accomplished. The other side will just keep bullying you and roll you over. The finding of this country, that he lives in, even came about through violence. So Matthews lives in an imaginary world.
