I would point out that America is the poster child for needlessly excessive consumption, and for the pride you as a nation you've taken in that wastefulness for the last 50 or 60 years.

But yes, arses parked in front of tellies (with or without the involvement of Cheetos) will be (and arguably already is) the downfall of society: X-Factor, Got Tallent, Survivor, Big Brother, America's Wildest..., most extreme..., Jackass, AND FOX BLOODY NEWS.

It's all tossing Christians to the bloody lions for the modern era, and the nation/world laps it up whilst ignoring half a thousand Neros tuning up and finalising their play lists. Hell the flames are crackling, and you lot are on the 'phone' placing orders for even more distraction and noise.
