I haven’t done the numbers for a couple years but if you look at the S&P 500 from Inauguration Day to Inauguration Day since Kennedy, it’s up something like 7% on average during dem administrations and 2% during republican administrations.

Feels like a good day to pull out the spreadsheet and see where we stand now. But even with those old numbers, a 5% annual spread makes a huge difference in ye old 401k.
