I thought it was because they wanted HC to take the 2004 election and HD would/might have prevented that, so they preferred a Rep win...

I've just posed somethig about the Michigan 2008 primary election which was declared illegal by the DNC where all except HC & one other candidate took their names off the ballot because they were told they couldn't have the votes counted towards delegates at the convention. The HC crowd fought like hell to get the votes but folks like me who voted "uncommitted" were not happy about that.
