8. I think the country

as a whole isn't ready for an openly gay VP. There are still way too many homophobes among independents, and even in the Democratic party. I would love to see Sec. Buttigieg as VP candidate, but I do not see it happening in 2024. Hopefully in my lifetime it won't matter.
