I'm pretty sure he can decipher numbers and see that Rachel Maddow has beaten him consistently for the past four weeks. His rating is how he negotiates a contract, and if he doesn't change to regain viewers he'll be eating lunch with Steve Duecy. Same for Greta, who has seen viewers dropping for the last several months.

Don't kid yourself that these hosts don't have rear view mirrors that show steadily growing images of MSNBC shows.
