11. SOS Is A Nutcracker Job...

This is the most demanding job short of doing a tour in Afghanistan. It's constant traveling and dealing with one crisis or another. You could see how its taken its toll on SOS Clinton and on others...a reason why few Secretaries stay beyond 4 years. Forget much of a family or personal life...you're on yet another flight or have to prepare for another round of negotiations. It requires a very healthy and strong person to cope with the pressures.

I was supportive of Amb. Rice but now have reservations based on the articles about her Canadian oil company holdings. I want to know more but I was very disappointed with what I've read so far. As far as Huntsman...I actually think it might be a good choice. He's young and healthy enough for the challenges of the job and from his past history as Ambassador to China will put the country first and foremost. I know there's the push for Senator Kerry...but I think the administration is now leery of playing into rushpublican hands and may just pass on him for either State or Defense...for now.
