3. The GOP talking points are a distraction from the facts that neither party wants discussed.

When rebel groups overthrew Gadhaffi in 2011, they also liberated some 15,000 MANPADs (portable ground to air missiles) known to have been in Libyan Army stockpiles. Eastern Libya is the home of a variety of Jihadi groups, including the world's densest concentration of al-Qaeda suicide bombers who had been until recently attacking US troops and the Shi'ia population in Iraq. The overthrow of Gadhaffi and coordination of these groups by the US Ambassador and large CIA station in Benghazi led to the metasticization of these extremely dangerous armed groups to Syria and elsewhere in the region.

Susan Rice, Chris Stevens, and Gen. Petraeus and other regime change enthusiasts within this Administration took some terrible and unacceptable risks. Of course, this was policy choice that is now a fate accompli, one which few neocons and conservatives in either party were heard opposing until the attack on the Benghazi CIA station on 9/11 drew unwanted attention to the activities there.
