Nov 2012

I am staying home today. Was going to buy nothing, but then saw that an online charity which benefits homeless pets in animal shelters was having a sale. I needed to replace a fleece jacket which got lost, and I bought some rain boots because I want to put in raised beds this winter, and phase out the lawn.
So, the homeless pets will benefit by receiving 56 bowls of food, and I will get a needed winter jacket and boots.

Like you, I am enjoying staying home with my cat, in the PNW's endless winter rain. It feels very good to stay home today, and avoid the maniac crowds. I have been celebrating Buy Nothing Day for many years. Hooray for Ad Busters. Cheers!

Oh, yeah, and the raised beds will have to be built from scrounged or cheap locally sourced materials, because my income dropped drastically in the last year, and hasn't gone up in ...forever.

I'm not buying anything today. Nada. BlueCaliDem Nov 2012 #1
