It's about the dozens of neutral people in the audience.
There will always be bigots. Those viewing it saw it as what it was.
First of all, the two black guys had jobs, not the "dead beats" that they tried to stereotype. Secondly, they were exposed as cowards, because all of those who witnessed them referring to Obama with the N-Word saw them slink away when confronted with the mere presence of two African Americans. It proved they didn't have the courage of their convictions and were unwilling and unable to press their case on the merits without using bigotry or code words.
The episode wasn't for them, it was for everyone else.
