needs to begin with a clear eyed assessment of the fragmented and dysfunctional system we are saddled with today. Our political class has been kicking this can down the road for a good 30-40 years - with no serious attempt to either fix existing problems or at revision and adjustment to address new realities.

Climate change and political destabilization almost assure that this continues to grow. (not only U.S. but globally)

I don't blame Biden - on the simple grounds that it is pure DELUSION to imagine a political solution deriving from the current Congress. Same time, I am not going to fault any moves the man is trying to make from the executive at this time - with the understanding that any attempt at treating a festering sore - is better than turning a blind eye.
