just north of the "no man's land" from the film. She has told me many times about the rabbit drives, which makes me think that those events must have been an image, from her childhood, that was very traumatic for her.

When I saw that incident in the film, it made me think that participating in these rabbit drives must have given the men involved some sense of accomplishment, at a time in their lives when accomplishments were in very short supply.
