that is very logical. Granted, it's from HuffPo but quite simple, McCain is showboating. His power and influence comes to an end in the next session. Because of term limits imposed by the Republicans, McCain's time as Chair of the Armed Services Committee is ending; his new assignment is Chair of the Indian Affairs Committee.

McCain wants his power and influence to continue, thus the desire to be the Chair of the special investigation. Other GOP Senators, e.g., Susan Collins, came out against McCain's special committee. There are all ready seven (SEVEN!!!!) Committees that are investigating this, I could be wrong, she either said seven or nine, and yes, I'm serious seven or nine.
