the party of the uneducated. Their base looks down on education. I know. I lived in the back-country one time and they really do hate education and anyone who IS educated. They don't allow their children to go to high school....this is not innuendo. My hubby and I helped two beautiful intelligent young ladies to get their GEDs. Their dad would not let them go to high school. They came to live with us through the week and went home on the weekends. I taught them Algebra, Geometry. They passed their GED exams on the first try. And they left the back-country soon after and were very successful thereafter. In that hollow, the majority of the adults did not know how to read or write. I was shocked out of my mind. And yes, they all voted Republican. I could go on, but I won't. That's why the Republicon' party wants to do away with the Dept of Education.
