In reply to the discussion: Well, well, well, Paula Broadwell is well-connected with... David Gergen [View all]2naSalit
(86,508 posts)I have some thoughts about these connections.
a) Broadwell may not have sent these emails, anyone actually seen them? Could just be hear-say fodder for the media.
b) Corporate media is well known for stinky smokescreens to cover up even more stinky stuff, we should be more skeptical by now, shouldn't we?
c) So the victim of the alleged nasty emails is a friend of the family and has a nice, tidy life with a much hotter partner than the general with little motivation outside the fact that she's a 1%er too, and she's not taking a fall, just a cog in the wheel.
I think this story is a smokescreen to a much larger issue that has everything to do with how bad mittens looked all through the summer, it called for a larger strategy. After his 47% party revelations in May (and where else but the alleged nasty email victim's hometown and where the general had lived for years among the Cheneyites?), my thinking is that the audience at that party went to work finding ways to take the prez down at all costs, and some were willing to take a faux fall for the cause. Too many cozy alliances... like the picture at the top of this thread implies. Why would this alleged paramour be so cozy with the Ham?
This web tool is very helpful in discovering who is connected to whom, check it out and do some investigating on your own. There are some real eye openers to discover. (just double-click on any entity with an "x" in the upper right-hand corner and the map will reconfigure to highlight the connections to that entity... very revealing, connect the the dots! There's a key to how to use the tool on the right panel of each page.)
